Gang Updates

As an undergraduate student in the late 1990s, conducting my own research inspired me to pursue a doctoral degree. As a teacher, I strive to motivate my students to learn the same process of finding out how to examine our social world. Every two years I teach an applied research course on gangs where I guide students on exploratory data collection. Thus, while students learn the national literature on the topic of gangs they also get to investigate local issues. Such efforts merge with collaborative and participatory action research. The findings from these informal observations can be found below:
